On February 24th, Silver Stream was represented
at the Optimist Club Chess Tournament by 35 students in grade 4-8. We are very proud of our students’ skill in chess
demonstrated at the tournament, but also the support they demonstrated for team
members throughout the tournament. 9
of our students have qualified for the Provincial tournament being held in
April in Mississauga. In addition, we
were notified this week of the team results, and learned that our Junior team
has won the Junior Banner for this regional tournament! The Optimist Club will be presenting the
Junior Banner to our students during morning recess on Thursday morning. Congratulations to our Junior team as well as
all our chess players.
