Donation of Fall Display
Today, a gentleman driving by our school, donated a fall display for the front entrance of our school! The display was no longer needed at an event, and he thought it may bring pleasure to our students and families. We are appreciative of his kind and thoughtful gesture.
Walk on Wednesdays!
This is the final week for Walk-to-School Month's tallying! The classes in green take the bus to school. All others are within walking distance to our school. Scroll down for the winning class who will receive tasty prizes for the highest
percentage of people who walked to school on Wednesday. Thank you, parents and
guardians, for your participation. We will resume tallying in the spring when
the weather is warmer, so it's never too late to incorporate walking to school
in your children's routine.

School Council Book Swap Coming up in November!
Our 3rd Annual Book Swap is coming in
November! Please start to collect your gently used books that you would
like to swap for other gently used books. We will be collecting books
starting on November 22nd!

Mark your calendars for MOVIE NIGHT! Hotel Transylvania 2
- Doors open at 6 pm, Movie starts at 6:30 pm
- Halloween theme! Come dressed up in your costume (no masks allowed), or feel free to wear your pajamas and bring a blanket to get cozy
- Admission is free
- Popcorn, Juice, and Water will be sold for $1.00 each
- Parent or Guardian must accompany child for the entire evening

Swiss Chalet Lunch ~ Boomerang containers home
We have 152 students who order Swiss Chalet Lunch. It is a very popular new lunch program but one that generates a huge amount of plastic waste that overflows our bins in classrooms. We are unable to cope with the amount of waste that is generated and work hard to reduce our waste at school as much as possible. As we strive to be an ecofriendly school, we are asking our students to boomerang their plastic containers so that they can either be reused at home or recycled at home.
At home, please remind your child to bring home the plastic containers.

Walk to School Update from our ECOTEAM
On average 58% of our students are walking to school on a daily basis. The classes listed in green are bused students and therefore beyond the parameters of walking distance from the school. All other students are walking distance from the school. We want to increase the number of students that we have walking to school on a regular basis. We think we can do better than 58%! Walking to school provides exercise, reduces traffic around the school, reduces greenhouse gases and starts your day in a positive way.
Get your feet on the street Silver Stream PS and WALK TO SCHOOL. We will continue to provide you with updates on our data collected.
