We are a little late on reporting this… on Friday
February 26th, 24 of our students in Grades 5-8 participated in the
Optimists Club Regional Chess Tournament.
We are very proud of all our students’ sportsmanship and support of each
other as they competed against students in other schools in York Region. We would specifically like to congratulate
seven of our students who were successful at the tournament and will
participate in the Provincial Chess tournament on April 17th:
In Grade 5:
Andy C. placed 3rd; and David Y. was 1st
overall
In Grade 6:
Nicholas C. placed 3rd and Daniel C. won 1st
place overall
In Grade 7:
Paul Z. was 4th place, and Timothy D. placed 3rd
And in Grade 8:
Yang C. placed 2nd
Thank you to Mrs. Harikrishin and Mrs. Esho for their
support of the students leading up to the tournament and a special thank you to
Mrs. Esho for supervising the students at the tournament Friday.
